Fire Weather Watches have been posted for much of the area. That includes most of NH, VT, CT, MA, and NY. A fire weather watch is issued when conditions are favorable for brush fires. A step above a Fire Weather Watch is a Red Flag Warning, which means that condiotions are extremely ripe for a brush fire or a wildfire. It has been dry around here for a while as we haven't had much measurable rain lately. The region is in a dry-spell, not a full-on drought. Because of these Fire Weather Watches and dry conditions, it is not recommended that you do any outdoor burning. It only takes one spark in these conditions to ignite a large fire. I'm thinking that our next good chance of a measurable rain event is going to be next Tuesday..stay tuned for more on that.
